A Gilt-Lacquered Wood Figure of Sakyamuni

Qing Dynasty

Depicted standing in a varadamudra gesture ,above a double lotus above a hexagonal stand incised with ruyi cloud motifs. The figure clad in long draping garments parting at the chest to reveal an auspicious wan symbol before cascading in the crook of the left arm and setting in ripples near the bare feet, and with a gentle downcast expression beneath tight coils surrounding a red-lacquered ushnisha.

Age discolored, scratches,Hairline cracks.
