A Bronze Figure of Maitreya

Kashmir or Western Tibet, 12th Century

Very finely cast seated in rajalilasana over a double-lotus cushion and beaded base, flanked by lotuses at his shoulders bearing his waterpot attribute, his eyes and urna inlaid in silver and hair piled in a braided chignon bearing a stupa.
