A Bronze Figure of Avalokitesvara

Ming XuanDe Dynasty

Seated in vajraparyankasana on a double lotus-shaped base, hands in varada and vitarka mudra holding stems of lotus flowers blooming near the shoulders and supporting attributes, ruyi head and scroll, symbolizing the triratna and prajnaparamita, dressed in a fine dhoti and richly adorned with jewels, serene face surmounted by a flowered crown framing a chignon decorated with a jewel, sealed on a lotus base.

Age discolored, scratches, tarnished.
